If you hadn’t already heard, BMW recently unveiled its latest concept for the company’s new 4-series coupe, which is planned to replace the 3-series coupe that they currently have out. The 4-series is going to be longer, lower, and wider than the vehicle it is replacing. This will make for a much more stable and performance-oriented vehicle, along with the benefit of better fuel economy and efficiency.
The new 4-series will begin production in July and will continue production through June 2014. Four forms will be available, each with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive: 428i, 428xi, 435i, and 435xi. The 428i models will come equipped with a turbocharged 2.0L 4-cylinder engine with 240 horsepower at 255 lb-ft of torque. The 435i models will have a turbocharged 3.0L 6-cylinder rated at 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque.
So far, no BMW-official pictures have been released, although there are many photos from the auto show that can be found. One thing is for sure though — the 4-series concept is a beautiful addition to the BMW lineup and is certain to impress when it eventually hits lots. With sleek lines and a smooth form, this car really struck me when I first saw it. The 4-Series coupe has a lot of inspiration from the 6-Series, making it a very classy and cool-looking vehicle. If you’re not convinced still, check it out for yourself but be warned: you might become a little obsessed like I have.
